The Urgent Call to Salvation

Psalm 98:2 The LORD has made his salvation known

and revealed his righteousness to the nations.

Isaiah 43:11 I, even I, am the LORD,

and apart from me there is no savior.

43:12 I have revealed and saved and proclaimed--

I, and not some foreign god among you.

You are my witnesses," declares the LORD, "that I am God.

43:13 Yes, and from ancient days I am he.

No one can deliver out of my hand.

When I act, who can reverse it?"

43:14 This is what the LORD says--

your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel:

Acts 4:10 then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, .................4:12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."

2Peter 3:15  Bear in mind that our Lord's patience means Salvation, .............

HEB 2:1  We must pay more careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. 2:2  For if the message spoken by angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment, 2:3 how shall we escape if we ignore such a great Salvation? This Salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him. 2:4 God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.

Ephesians 1:13 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your Salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 1:14  who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession--to the praise of his glory.

Isaiah 33:22 For the LORD is our judge,

    the LORD is our lawgiver,

  the LORD is our king;

it is he who will save us.

John 4:21 Jesus declared, "Believe me, woman, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. 4:22 You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for Salvation is from the Jews. 4:23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 4:24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth."

Acts 5:29 Peter and the other apostles replied: "We must obey God rather than men! 5:30 The God of our fathers raised Jesus from the dead--whom you had killed by hanging him on a tree. 5:31 God exalted him to his own right hand as Prince and Savior that he might give repentance and forgiveness of sins to Israel. 5:32 We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him."

2 Corinthians 7:10 Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to Salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.

Romans 1:16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the Salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 1:17 For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith."

1:18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 1:19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 1:20 For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.

1:21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 1:22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 1:23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.

1:24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 1:25 They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator--who is forever praised. Amen.

1:26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. 1:27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

1:28 Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. 1:29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 1:30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 1:31 they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. 1:32 Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

Romans 2:1 You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things. 2:2 Now we know that God's judgment against those who do such things is based on truth. 2:3 So when you, a mere man, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God's judgment? 2:4 Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, tolerance and patience, not realizing that God's kindness leads you toward repentance?

2:5 But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God's wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed. 2:6 God "will give to each person according to what he has done." 2:7 To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. 2:8 But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger. 2:9 There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile; 2:10 but glory, honor and peace for everyone who does good: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 2:11 For God does not show favoritism.

2 Thessalonians 2:5 Don't you remember that when I was with you I used to tell you these things? 2:6 And now you know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time. 2:7 For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way. 2:8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming. 2:9 The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, 2:10 and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 2:11 For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie 2:12 and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.

1 Timothy 2:1 I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone-- [2] for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. [3] This is good, and pleases God our Savior, [4] who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. [5] For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, [6] who gave himself as a ransom for all men--the testimony given in its proper time.
